What The Exchange does
Join bracket boards
Register for a free account, pick a board level, and take an open slot on a 15-person bracket. Your display name appears on the board as you move up.
Pay entry fees securely
When you join a board, you pay the board entry plus a 15% service fee through Stripe. Card numbers are processed by Stripe; we do not store full payment card details on our servers.
Track your boards
Signed-in users can see boards they are on, view bracket charts, and receive email or text notifications when their position changes (if you opt in to SMS).
Board splits and payouts
When a board fills, it splits according to the rules for that level. Payment activity is recorded in our ledger for administration and support.
How it works
- Create an account with email and password, or register with Google.
- Choose a board from the open boards listed below (or use Play to view a specific bracket).
- Join and pay the board entry plus service fee for that level when you take a slot.
- Move up as positions open; get notified by email or SMS if you enabled text messages.
- When the board is full, it splits and the top node gets paid (8 times what it cost to join the board)!
Your data and privacy
We request personal information only to operate The Exchange. We do not sell your data.
- Account information (email, display name, password if you register with email) — to create your account, sign you in, and show your name on boards.
- Google Sign-In (email, name, and basic profile from Google) — only if you choose “Register with Google” or sign in with Google; used solely to authenticate you and create or link your Exchange account. We do not access your Google contacts, Drive, Gmail, or other Google services beyond basic profile and email.
- Phone number and SMS consent — only if you provide them at registration or in your profile; used to send optional text messages about board moves. Carrier lookup may be used to improve SMS delivery.
- Payment information — processed by Stripe when you join a paid board; we store a Stripe customer reference, not your full card number.
- Technical and usage data (such as IP address and browser type) — to secure the site, troubleshoot issues, and understand aggregate usage.
